Pembina Place MPCH- COVID 19 Outbreak- Update August 16, 2024

COVID 19 OUTBREAK UPDATE PEMBINA PLACE MPCH
Dear Residents and Families:

There are 9 COVID positive residents on 3 East. On 3 South there is 1 positive resident. We have no
further residents presenting with symptoms on either unit on the third floor. On the 2nd floor the
one suspected case test has returned negative for COVID 19.
Therefore no positive residents on second floor.

If we do not have any further residents presenting with symptoms, we would be looking at resolving
the outbreak as of Saturday August 24th .

The residents on third-floor East are required to remain on the unit. All Residents must remain on
third-floor East but are not restricted to their rooms unless on isolation. Those visiting
Residents who have tested positive or are on additional precautions should consult with Nursing
staff about PPE and other precautions.

To mitigate the further transmission between Residents. All group recreation activities will be
cancelled until the outbreak has been resolved.

We encourage all family and other visitors to wear a mask during their entire visit, sanitize their
hands before and after visiting and not come for a visit if feeling ill.
This latest outbreak reinforces the importance of staying up to date with vaccinations.

A big thank you also to all staff at Pembina Place for their outstanding care, infection control
practices and support during this outbreak.
