INFLUENZA “A” OUTBREAK AT PEMBINA PLACE MPCH- UPDATE JAN. 23, 2024

January 23, 2024

Dear Residents and Families:

We are pleased to report that as of January 13, there are no current positive cases of tested Influenza A and the two affected Residents have come off isolation and are symptom free.

Group programming in Recreation and Spiritual Care will fully resume for all Residents.

However, because a variety of respiratory and Gastrointestinal viruses continue to circulate in the community, it is important for visitors to consider wearing a mask, to sanitize their hands before and after visiting and please not visit if feeling ill. This latest outbreak also reinforces the importance of staying up to date with COVID, Influenza and -if high risk- RSV vaccinations.

Again, our profound thanks to all staff at Pembina Place their outstanding care, infection control practices and support during this small outbreak.

Please keep our Residents and Staff in your thoughts and prayers.
