Pembina Place MPCH- COVID Outbreak Declared August 12, 2024

COVID 19 OUTBREAK PEMBINA PLACE MPCH

Dear Residents and Families:

We have declared a COVID 19 outbreak among our Residents on third floor east. Residents started presenting with symptoms on August 10, 2024. Two residents’ viral swabs have come back positive. We also have 6 other residents presenting with symptoms 5 on third floor east and one resident on third floor south. We are awaiting swab results from these residents.
We have been in contact with WRHA infection control.
The residents on third-floor East are required to remain on the unit. All Residents must remain on third-floor East but are not restricted to their rooms unless on isolation. Those visiting Residents who have tested positive or are on additional precautions should consult with Nursing staff about PPE and other precautions.
To mitigate the further transmission between Residents. All group recreation activities will be cancelled until outbreak has resolved.
We encourage all family and other visitors to wear a mask during their entire visit, sanitize their hands before and after visiting and not come for a visit if feeling ill.
This latest outbreak reinforces the importance of staying up to date with vaccinations.
A big thank you also to all staff at Pembina Place for their outstanding care, infection control practices and support during this outbreak.
Please continue to monitor our website for updates. Should you have any questions please contact either Monique Liarakos RCM at 204-478-7968 or Karen Revak RCC at 204-478-7964
