RESPIRATORY OUTBREAK at PEMBINA PLACE MPCH
Dear Residents and Families:
Today we have declared a Respiratory Outbreak on the second floor. At the present time
we have 3 residents who have presented with symptoms of a respiratory illness. The
results of 2 swabs have come back negative for COVID-19, Influenza A or B and also
RSV. Residents that are symptomatic have been put on isolation as per protocol. Two
residents on the third floor are also presenting with respiratory symptoms and swabs have
been sent. Will await for the results.
Those visiting Residents who are on isolation or are on additional precautions should
consult with Nursing staff about PPE and other precautions.
To mitigate the further transmission between Residents. All group recreation activities
will be cancelled on the second floor.
We encourage all family and other visitors to wear a mask during their entire visit, sanitize
their hands before and after visiting and not come for a visit if feeling ill.
This latest outbreak reinforces the importance of staying up to date with vaccinations.
A big thank you also to all staff at Pembina Place for their outstanding care, infection
control practices and support during this outbreak.
